Betty was born on February 22, 1936, and grew up in Madison, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hulda Youngblood; husband, Toby Tarpley; and daughter, Carol Shubert of Dahlonega.
Betty is survived by her sons: Jimmy Tarpley (Crystal) and Ted Tarpley of Athens; and brother, Johnny Youngblood of Madison. She was a devoted grandmother of six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
The family will welcome visitors for a celebration of life at Bernstein Funeral Home on Sunday, November 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Words of remembrance will be shared at 2:30 p.m.
Bernstein Funeral Home will be handling arrangements.
