A native of Oconee County, GA, Mrs. Hix was the daughter of Herman and Irene Thrasher Bowden and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Washington Hix. She was a retired bookkeeper at Birchmore Dairy Supply and a member of Bogart United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Donald Hix and wife, Evelyn of Winder and Dennis Hix and wife, Jackie of Lavonia; grandchildren, Lynn McCaughey, Denise Bailey, and Angie Hix, and great-grandchildren, Courtney Rice, Tanner Bailey, and William Bailey.
A graveside service will be held 11AM Wednesday, September 1st at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev Russell Repetske officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Tuesday, August 31st at Bernstein.
