Born May 7, 1984, in Athens, Brian was the son of Roberta Hensley of Louisiana and the late Robert Allen. A man of steady purpose and deep devotion, he will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who knew and loved him.
Brian served his country as a 16-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He completed two deployments in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he received the Combat Action Ribbon. During his service, he carried significant responsibility as a Combat Instructor and as a Motor Transport Logistics Chief with the Marine Corps—roles that reflected his discipline, reliability, and commitment to those beside him.
Above all, Brian was a devoted Dad who loved his children and family deeply. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Yessica Ruiz of Athens; children, Vanessa Bailey of Benson, NC, Asher Allen and Savannah Allen, both of Athens; brother, Phillip Witcher (Tina) of Statham; sisters, Rhomney Moon (Bernard) of Statham and Amber Gonzalez of Louisiana.
Brian’s loyalty and warmth also showed in the simple joys he cherished: University of Georgia football, the Atlanta Falcons, and animals. He also found great reward in working at Habitat for Humanity, giving his time in a way that reflected a quiet generosity and a sincere desire to help others build a better life.
