Surviving Carol are her husband, Sherry C. Lester of Athens; her son, Curtis, and daughter-in-law, Sheila Bradshaw of Jefferson; daughter, Amy, and son-in-law, Keith Smith of Colbert; her son, Wesley Bradshaw of Danielsville; and sister, Dolores Brooks of Winterville. Carol had eight grandchildren: Emma, Trey, Abbigill, Nolan, McKale, Memphis, Myah and Eric.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Hoyt and Mae Nell Hamby; and sister, JoAnn Jacobs.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, at Milledge Avenue Baptist Church in Athens with Dr. Nathan Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends before the service at one o’clock p.m., with the service at two o’clock, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Milledge Avenue Baptist Church Music Scholars Program or Moon’s Grove Baptist Church.
