Christopher L. Calvert, 55, of Richmond, VA and recently of Athens, GA passed away peacefully at his home, Friday, September 14, 2018. Born Oct. 11, 1962 in Chapel Hill, NC, he was the son of Anita McClees Marlin and Chris Busch, and the adoptive son of the late Wallace Calvert.
Chris enjoyed riding motorcycles, sailing, golfing, shooting, talking politics, visiting the family beach cottage, and was a devoted father to his family and an earnest companion to his friends, loved ones, and dogs Kennedy and Romeo.
Chris, the founder and principle of Club Consulting Group, was a visionary leader who led with his heart. Throughout his career he helped companies find synergy and growth while pursuing their organizational missions.
He was beloved by the people he served because of his boundless hospitality, his commitment to excellence at work, and his commitment to growth and development in their personal and professional lives.
He was beloved by the communities he served because of the positive changes he created that were in line with his beliefs, values and principles.
Finally, Chris was beloved by his family because of his commitment to and generosity in fostering their connection, growth and wellbeing. He was dedicated to bringing the family together and he taught others to help and support one another. His greatest legacy is the unconditional love he held in his heart, and his commitment to always protect and support those that he loved. His greatest wish for his loved ones was that they pursue their passions and follow their hearts in life.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Susanna Wu-Pong Calvert, two daughters Rachel Ann Calvert and Elissa Connor Calvert, two sons Jackson Wu-Pong and Simon Wu-Pong, brothers Eric Calvert, David Calvert, and Matthew Busch, paternal grandmother Elizabeth Pendergast, uncle Rick McClees and his wife Kristina, aunt Karen Green and her husband Bill, cousins Lauren McClees and Kylie Green, and his life-long best friend Bryan Martin. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Maymont Park’s Garden Hall in Richmond, Virginia.
