Mater was the kind of man people counted on, the neighbor who showed up before you even had to ask, the friend who somehow made every problem feel lighter just by being there.
People called him "Mater" because he was steady, reliable, and always ready to help anyone who needed him.
His family says that's who he was every single day... a devoted husband, a proud dad, and a constant source of love and support in their home.
Last week, Chris was on his way to his stepdaughters' Thanksgiving feast at their elementary school when he was killed in a motorcycle accident in Bishop, Georgia. A day that should have been full of excitement for his girls instead became the day their world changed forever.
He leaves behind his wife, Lauren, their 8-month-old son, Christian, and his two stepdaughters, Savannah and Anniston.
A young family now trying to make sense of life without the man who held them all together.
His loved ones hope people will remember Chris not for the way he was lost, but for the goodness he brought into every life he touched
A Celebration of Mater's life will be held Sunday, December 7, at 12:00 p.m., at Middle Georgia Sports Park, 460 Woodland Rd., Jeffersonville, Georgia 31044.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
