He was the son of Beverly Teat Carter and the late Charles H. Carter.
Chuck was born in Columbus, GA, while his father was stationed at Ft. Benning. After an early childhood of travel as an Army brat, he lived in Athens and Watkinsville for the rest of his life.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Susan Chatoney Carter; sisters, Suzanne Carter (Kurt Reichle) and Patty Richardson (Ed); niece, Lindsey Richardson; and nephew, Carter Richardson.
Chuck loved his family, radio-controlled planes, music, and auto racing. He lived life to the fullest in spite of many physical challenges, and was an inspiration to his many friends and loved ones. He was much loved by many and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Revs. Ted Tedder and Bill Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, June 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
