Cody Everett James

Though his time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will remain forever in our hearts.

Cody was born August 11, 2024, in Braselton, Georgia and was the son of Parker and Shelby James of Athens. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Theo and Brenda Sims; paternal great-grandfather, Odell Minish; maternal great-grandfather, Billy Lackey; maternal great-grandmother, Juanita Decker and step-grandfather, James Weathers.

Survivors include his parents, Parker and Shelby James; two sisters, Delaney James and Kaitlyn Allen-James; maternal grandparents, Michael and Christina Lackey; paternal grandparents, Allen and Melissa Beach and Ryan and Melanie James; paternal great-grandmother, Susie Minish; maternal great-grandfather, Charles Decker and aunt, Amazing Grace Weathers.

A gathering of family and friends for Cody will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Georgia 30606. Following the gathering of family and friends will be a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Georgia 30606.

Cody will be laid to rest in Oconee Memorial Park, 2370 Hog Mountain Rd., Watkinsville, Georgia 30677.
