Born on the Rota military base in Spain, Darlene was the daughter of Richard Rhodes of Columbus, Ohio and the late Janet Melfi Schrader. She graduated from Hilliard High School in Ohio and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1986-1994, retiring with the rank of Corporal. A beloved mother and dedicated nurse for over 30 years, Darlene worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her daughters: Rachel and Ryann Drake, both of Bogart; sister, Lori Aguilar (Rey) of Davie, Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.
