Dempsey Massey

A native of Madison County, Mr. Massey was the son of the late Henry Dwight Massey and Wilmer Ree Barnett Massey of Athens, GA.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Massey is survived by a brother, Freddie Massey and his wife, Kay of Athens; sister, Mayree Tarkenton and her husband, Dallas of Athens; nephews, Chip Tarkenton of Midlothian, VA, Chuck Tarkenton of Newnan, GA, Chris Tarkenton of Duluth, GA, Von Massey of Athens, GA, Todd Massey of Rochester, NY, and Kirk Massey of Athens, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, August 3rd at Gordon’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev Luther Fouche and Rev Kenneth Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the home of Tracy and Von Massey, 480 Fortson Dr, Athens, GA 30606.
