The Athens native was the daughter of the late Olen Burton and Frances Couch Mathews and is survived by her husband of 63 years, Larry Lavender of Athens; son, Stephen Blake Lavender and his wife, Margaret Anderson Lavender of Watkinsville; daughter, Robin Renee’ Lavender of Brunswick; six granddaughters; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
