I have met only a few people in my life that were as kind and loving as Gran. She welcomed me into her family and heart,the first time  I met her.She will leave an empty space in all our hearts. Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.


Gran, as I reflect on my memories of you I find it very emotional. I will miss you so much! You meant so much to me and offered so much to me and your whole family!  As my life growing up did not offer alot of stability at times, you were the one that always offered the stability, that i so required! You were the best grandmother I could have ever asked for. I always had a house to go to with you there offering your unconditional love, understanding, and acceptance. You taught me about family, love and cooking, as well as all the important things that make a home a home and a family a family! As I am your oldest granddaughter I am so very blesses to have all the wonderful memories of the Taunton Lake house, the shore house and the house in Mississippi! All of those houses were filled with love, family and great cooking from you! Lets also not forget your sense of humor! I will never forget our times together with my children, you and mom. The times that we played jokes with the kids, putting out dressed up dummies and spider webs, in their bedrooms, to scare the kids, it sounds crazy but we all laughed so much and had many fun times like that! My children and I will tell all of those stories with each other and my grandchildren to come with love and laughter to always remember you! They will remind us of how important humor is, which you and mom had plenty of! I know you are with mom now and the whole in my heart for both of you is huge, but I know that as we are promised in 2 Timothy 4:6-8 is that you have received your crown, and I am sure it is big, as I do not know anyone else that had as much grace, faith and love for her family as you Gran! I love you so very much!

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.  Please know that all of us in California are with you in spirit.  Aunt Doris was a wonderful person and so many people have been inspired by her life.  I am confident she is enjoying the wonders of heaven with all of our relatives who have gone before her.

My fondest memory of Gran was in December, 1984 when she graciously kept Cade & Cooper, ages 14 & 7, for 2 weeks while Bob and I went to Germany. Truly that was a gift of love, just the first of many that all of us received through the years. When I got home from this wonderful trip, Gran didn't say how tired she was or complain in any way. She only said how very much she enjoyed baking holiday cookies with little hands reaching over the counter to grab a warm one. She was unselfish and loving and impacted countless lives, including mine. I could not have asked for a better mother-in-law.

Dear Gran,
It's been an honor knowing you, loving you and having you as my grandmother. You are the one who taught my sister's and I the Lord's Prayer when we were little. You would hold me during the thunderstorm's when I was terrified of them. Took us for 2 weeks for the summer's down there in Mississippi. Man, I remember how we stood in the rain to catch fish dinner pretty often during our stay. Thank you for being such a light in my life and many other's too. We have had so many spiritual talks on reflection and life in general. Come talk to me sometime. I love you so much.
