Douglas Durden

Born at Ft. Belvoir, VA, Mr. Durden was the son of Eugene Durden and the late Mary Alice Hillsman Durden and was preceded in death by his step-mother, Elner “Giggles” Durden, paternal grandparents, Alexander and Mattee Bell Durden, and maternal grandparents, Joe and Lona Mae Hillsman. Mr. Durden was a member of Watkinsville Christian Church.

Survivors, in addition to his father include brothers, Joe Maxey Durden and wife, Karen and their children, Ciera, Karli, and Jacob of Martinez, GA and Dave Paul Durden and wife, Raquel and their son, Tyler of Waleska, GA and uncle, Mike Hillsman and wife, Sharon and their children, Trent and Alicia of Colbert, GA.

Graveside services will be held 11AM Wednesday, August 29th at Johnson United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Ivey and Franklin Shumake officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1353 Jennings Mill Rd, Bogart, GA 30622 or to the American Cancer 1684 Barnett Shoals Rd, Athens, GA 30605.
