Born on November 11, 1960, in Athens, Georgia, Dusty was the son of the late Margaret Wilson Addington and Ernest B. Addington.
Dusty spent many years building a career in automobile sales, an industry that complemented his lifelong appreciation for automobiles. Away from work, he had a special passion for antique automobiles. He also enjoyed strength training and beach shag music and was a member of Cornerstone Church in Athens, Georgia.
He is survived by his children, Casey, Nikki, Dustin and his wife Alyssa; his sister, Renee Addington Friar and her husband, Tim Friar, of Tampa, Florida; and his older brother, Michael Addington and his late wife, Judy Addington, of Lyman, South Carolina.
He also leaves behind his nephews, Mike Addington Jr., Blaise Potts, Joshua Addington, and Jacob Addington; his nieces, Stacey Addington and Brandy Fiegal; as well as extended family members and many friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Dusty had a natural ability to connect with people. Extremely likable and outgoing, he never met a stranger and seemed to make friends wherever he went. His warmth and genuine interest in others made people feel comfortable around him, and the many friendships he formed throughout his life were a reflection of the kind of person he was.
Dusty will be remembered for his big heart, his love of family and friends, the relationships he built, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the friendships, stories, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will continue to be shared by those who loved him.
A Celebration of Life honoring Dusty will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Athens, Georgia.
Bernstein Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
