A native of Athens, GA Mr. Martin was the son of Hazel Busbin Martin of Danielsville and the late Wilder Martin. He worked for Westinghouse and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors in addition to his mother include wife, Tina F. Martin of Bethlehem; sons, Greg Martin and wife, Melissa of Commerce and Shannon Martin and wife, Brittany of Colbert; daughters, Sherry Freeman and husband, Richard of Athens, Yvonne Harper and husband, Kenny of Madison, and Janet Bagwell of Wilmington, NC; brother, Jerry Martin and wife, Patricia of Commerce; sister, Rita Smallwood and husband, Steve of Danielsville and Linda Dickson of Athens; 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Thursday, April 18th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Wednesday, April 17th at Bernstein.
