A son of the late William Edward King and Ann Scholl King Hodges, Eddie loved woodworking, cooking, fishing, camping, hiking and the Georgia Bulldogs. His favorite thing was being “Poppy” to his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by granddaughter, Avery Kate King.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Johnson King of Athens; children: Sydney Levi (Caleb) of Hendersonville, NC and Bill King (Kelsey) of Haleyville, AL; brothers: Henry King (Dea) of Norfolk, VA and Howard King (Jennifer) of Atlanta; sisters: Ann Thompson (Michael) and Kristy Coughlin (Ed), both of Atlanta; grandchildren: Preston King, Raegan King, Mary Levi and Andy Levi.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 31, at 3:00 p.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Caleb Levi officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Ivey Jr., Lee Catoe and Mike Anglin.
