Ed was born in New Haven, Connecticut on October 29, 1922. Son of the late Lawrence Casimir Morris (Czapiga) and Mary Theresa (Mihalska) Morris.
He was a graduate of Hamden High School, class of 1940 and held an Associate of Science degree, from what is now the University of New Haven. Ed served in the American Theater in World War II. Trained as a medic and surgical technician, he served from 1943 until 1946 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Tech Sargent in charge of medical supply. Ed returned to Hamden, CT, where he married Helen Mary Wolicki, in 1947. They raised their three children in Hamden among a large family and many friends. Ed worked for Berger Brothers Company for over 30 years and for the town of Hamden, CT as Planning Administrator. In 1993, Ed and Helen chose Athens as their retirement home. There, Ed pursued his passion for golf and Helen pursued her passion for gardening.
