A native of Liverpool, England, Mrs. Wallace was the daughter of the late Leslie William James Carter and Ethel Halliwell Lee Carter and was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. She was a war bride and moved to Nebraska in 1946. In 1997 she moved to Athens, GA and loved her adopted home. Mrs. Wallace served as a volunteer with St. Mary’s Hospital knitting baby caps, booties, and shoes for newborn babies. She also knitted lap robes and blankets for Council on Aging as gifts. Knitting was her full time hobby.
Survivors include sons, Kenneth Wallace of Salt Lake City, UT and Dennis Wallace of Athens, GA; daughter, Sheila Scott of Elm Creek, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, and 1 surviving sister, Dorothy Holden of Liverpool, England.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
