A native of the Athens area, Faye was a daughter of the late Thurman Lee Sorrow and Mary Frances Landers Sorrow. She worked for many years as credit manager for the Athens Banner-Herald and was a member of Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. Faye was an avid reader and also enjoyed gardening, but she especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and and a sports fanatic in general. She kept up with NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Falcons and looked forward to the Kentucky Derby each year.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Helth Sr.; brother, Bobby Sorrow; and brothers-in-law, Don Carnes, Bob LaMorte and Ronnie Helth.
Survivors include children, Tracy Harmon (John) of Statham and James J. Helth Jr. (Dina) of Kathleen; sister, Martha Carnes of Athens; sisters-in-law, Barbara Sorrow of Warner Robins and Lynn LaMorte of Lake Ariel, PA; grandchildren, Kelly Helth, Lisa Johnson (Drew) and Alexa Harmon; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dave Smith officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
