She was born on Monday, June 24, 1957 in Athens to the late Judge Maylon Baxter Clinkscales and Vans Randell Brinson Clinkscales of Commerce, Georgia. She graduated from Commerce High School where she performed as a majorette and a member of the marching band. She graduated summa cum laude from Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia with a degree in literature. While at Brenau, she performed in piano recitals, served as president of the student government association, was a member of the Tri Delta sorority, the H.G.H. Senior Honor Society, and was the 1979 May Queen at the annual May Day festival. She married Howard Darrell Kinsey of Monroe, Georgia in 1979 and was an attentive wife, homemaker and mother. She led several clubs and community organizations in Commerce and was a Sunday school teacher and choir member, assisting her husband in his role as minister of music, at a number of area churches through the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of forty years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell, Jr. and Anna Kinsey of Watkinsville, Georgia; daughter, Vans Randell Kinsey, DVM of Savannah, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Maylon, Jr. and Kim Clinkscales of Panama City Beach, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Andrea Clinkscales of Commerce, Georgia; niece and nephew, Kaylon Brinson and Trey Clinkscales; grandsons, Benjamin and Reese Kinsey.
The family will hold a private service at a later time.
