Frances Smart

A native of Clarke County, GA, Mrs. Smart was the daughter of the late Horace Reeves Flanagan and Frances Louise Miller and was preceded in death by her husband, William Bryant Smart and a brother, O’Neal Flanagan. She worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s Hospital for 35 years and was a member of Living Word Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Dean Smart and wife, Deborah Anne of Hartwell and Roger Smart and wife, Rose of Statham; daughters, Deborah Brooks and husband, Mike of Bishop, Nancy Hardegree and husband, Dean of Statham, JoAnn Dalton and husband, Jimmy of Oconee, and Glenda Robertson and husband, Tommy of Colbert; brothers, Dub Flanagan of Claxton, GA and Ricky Flanagan of Center, GA; 18 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Thursday, December 18th at Living Word Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Wednesday, December 17th at Bernstein Funeral Home.
