

Harold Albert Brumbalow, 86, of Athens, GA passed away Monday afternoon, January 25, 2010 at Athens Regional Hospital. A native of Jackson County, GA, Mr. Brumbalow was the son of the late Albert Levi Brumbalow and Inez Simpson Brumbalow and was preceded in death by his brother, Homer Brumbalow. He served in the Army in the Phillipines and in Japan during WWII from 1943-1946 with the 517th Field Artillary Battalion. Mr. Brumbalow was a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lee Bruce Brumbalow; son, Bruce Brumbalow and his wife, Beth of Grapevine, TX; daughters, Dr. Carol Anderson and her husband, Edward of West Chester, PA, and Shelia Zimmerman and her husband, Pastor Bruce Zimmerman of Waxahachie, TX; 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter, Keira Carson. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Friday evening, January 29th and from 1 - 2 on Saturday prior to the 2 o'clock service. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, January 30th in the Chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home. Dr. Stewart Simms, Pastor Bruce Zimmerman, and Dr. Emory Linder will officiate. A committal service will be held at 4:30PM January 30th at Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery, Talmo, GA. Royce and Rodney Brumbalow, and grandchildren David Brumbalow, William, Robert, Andrew and James Zimmerman will serve as pallbearers.
