
A native of Athens, Alabama, Mr. Greenhaw was born March 14, 1921 to the late Benjamin F. and Pauline Bryan Greenhaw and was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Mary Ella Jones; his daughter, Kathryn Rice; his grandson, David Michael Greenhaw, Jr., and four siblings, Harry Greenhaw, Ben Greenhaw, Helen Raines (Shelley) and Margie Fulford.
Mr. Greenhaw was retired from Gulf Life Insurance Co. as a district manager. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Greenhaw was a member of Campus View Church of Christ and was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He was a musician, playing stand-up base, guitar, and electric base. Mr. Greenhaw loved his family and he was loved by them.
Survivors include one brother, Thomas Earl Greenhaw (Mary) of Columbus, GA; two sons, Robert Lewis (Betty) Greenhaw of Auburn, AL and David Michael, Sr. (Glenda) of Watkinsville, GA; son-in-law, Greg Rice; three granddaughters, Michele Forrest (Steve) of Watkinsville, GA, Jill Lawson (Dave) of Nicholson, GA, and Laura Willis (Barry) of Auburn, AL; five great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Agramonte, Shelley Bridger, Kira Wright, Amber Stowe, and Sylvia Stowe, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2PM Wednesday, August 19th at Evergreen Memorial Park with Reverend Jerry Neill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM prior to the service at Bernstein Funeral Home.
