Native to Athens, Georgia, Randy was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. His role was boundless in the lives he touched.
As a pillar in our community, he was preceded in death by parents, Joanna and Henry Parsons; wife, Sara Parsons; and brother, Rucker Parsons. Randy is survived by his daughter, Sadie Mooney; grandchildren: Jaiden, Cooper and Macie; sisters: Gayle Carswell and DeDe Guest; niece and nephews Pat, Jim, Rick, Keith, Frank and their families; as well as a host of family and friends.
Randy served as a vessel representing the grace and commitment of God. The ripple of his service stretched far and wide, from steerage to captain's table. Randy stood on the firing line of life and ushered thousands into a peaceful way of living. We are forever indebted to him for his service and take the responsibility of carrying the torch to all who suffer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 16, at 11:00 a.m., at First Christian Church, 268 W. Dougherty Street, Athens.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.
