Irene Lola Williams Maddox

Born in Athens on December 2, 1938, Irene was the daughter of the late Herbert Eugene Williams and Bernice Jenkins Williams.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Talmadge Maddox; her daughter, Debra Maddox; her son, Ricky Maddox; and two brothers, Roy Williams and Buck Williams; and a grandson, Lewis McDonald.

Survivors include a daughter, Angie Ross and husband Terry; brothers, Larry Williams, Hubert Williams, and Herbert Williams; a sister, Jerry Bratcher; grandchildren, Davey Adcock, Josh Maddox and his wife, Allison, Ashley Maddox, Michael Rusgrove, Autumn Ross, Grayson McDonald, Avery McDonald, Skylar McDonald Mitchell Rusgrove; and great-grandchildren, Chyenne, Chloe, Payton, and Helena.

Throughout her life, Irene found deep enjoyment in traveling and family trips, treasuring the time spent together and the memories made along the way. She also took pride in working outdoors and doing yard work, and she was especially skilled at hanging wallpaper—work she did for a living, bringing care and a steady hand to each home she touched.

Irene will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
