Bill Blailock, 80, of Athens, GA passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012.
A native of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Mr. Blailock was the son of the late James Monroe Blailock and Lula Smith Blailock and was preceded in death by a sister, Berniece Nowell. He served in the United States Air Force, and was the owner of Starkville Janitorial Service in Starkville, Mississippi. Upon retirement he relocated to Athens, GA to be near his daughters. He enjoyed a second retirement from the Oconee County Civic Center. Mr. Blailock was a member of Bogart United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Brown Blailock of Athens; daughters, Anita Gavigan (Clint),Winterville and Gina Lindsey Hansford(Steve)Watkinsville; sister, Mary Moore(Kernan) Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Mandy Brogdon(Shawn), Shiloh Lindsey, Hilary Gavigan(Josh Lyons), and Shane Lindsey; great-granddaughters, Audrey Bliss and Regan Lyons.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Thursday, May 3rd in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev Travis Sneed officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Wednesday, May 2nd at Bernstein.
Pallbearers will be Shiloh Lindsey, Shane Lindsey, Clint Gavigan, Steve Hansford, Shawn Brogdon and Josh Lyons.
The men of Bogart United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bogart United Methodist Church, 1201 Atlanta Hwy, Bogart, GA 30622 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
