A native of Sycamore, AL, Mr. Hamilton was the son of the late Warren and Nannie McConatha Hamilton and was preceded in death by his son, Donald Hamilton and brother, Cecil Hamilton. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Pacific Theater as an Aviation Mechanist. Mr. Hamilton retired from the Ford Assembly Plant after 30 years of service in the maintenance department as a millwright. He was a member of the Masons in Sylacauga, AL, and an active member of the United Auto Workers local 882, where he worked constantly to preserve the American made product and the future of the American worker. He was a former member of Oldfield Methodist Church in Sylacauga, AL and a member of Chapelwood Methodist Church in Athens, GA. He served his God and his country and worked daily to preserve them.
Survivors include his wife, June Motes Hamilton; daughter Gay Hamilton Jones and husband, Jimmy; sisters, Mildred Bryan and Marie Phillips; 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 1PM CST Saturday, July 27th at Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Oldfield Methodist Church, 2050 Oldfield Rd, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
