

Jane Hardy Fowler, 78, of Athens, GA died Sunday, January 4, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born in Gainesville, GA., she was the daughter of the late Mary Carter Hardy and Milton Joseph Hardy. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Fowler and daughter Ashlee Fowler Collier.
Jane graduated from Gainesville High School in 1954. She played varsity basketball and tennis. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1958. She was member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and served as vice president one year. Jane was also member of Beech Haven Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir and playing the handbells.
Her main love in life was her husband, children, grandchildren and sisters, June and Jo.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Laura Fowler and Holly Crymes (Scott) and three grandchildren Drew Campbell, Joel Campbell, and Nina Keller (Chad). In addition, she is survived by her older sister Josephine Fendig and twin sister June O’Kelley as well and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Beech Haven Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 with Dr. AB Sawyer and Dr. David Mills officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
The family expresses deep gratitude for the excellent and loving care provided by the staff at Bentley Assisted Living facility and Compassionate Care Hospice.
