J'ai appris avec tristesse le départ de Jean-Pierre, Je suis de tout cur avec toi et ta famille pour ces moments difficiles. Cela a été très rapide, et même  si tu es bien entourée par tes filles et leurs maris ainsi que tes petits enfants, tu dois te sentir bien seule après de si longues années passées ensemble tous les deux. Dear Catherine and family,
So sorry to hear of Jean-Pierre's passing and shocked.  I did not know he was ill.  I was a student of his for the Master's and Ph.D.  I believe he and I came to UGA the same year, if not the same quarter, Fall 1975.  I do remember him teaching a graduate French culture course, carrying a carousel of slides to class at that period of time.

More recently, I visited his classes to promote the UNG Quebec Program and was always graciously received.

I just retired from UNG in Dahlonega after 26 years of service.  I can thank Jean-Pierre and many other of my professors at UGA for the wonderful career I had.
