

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hartford Huggins, son, Jonathan Hartford Huggins (Samantha), grandchildren: Juniper and Jasper; son, Doug Boykin (Kay), grandsons: Jason and John Douglas.
Although Jere had degrees in philosophy and law from the University of Georgia, he moved to New York to work in film. He was an editor on the documentary Woodstock. He later moved to Los Angeles, where he did editing work with directors William Friedkin (Sorcerer, To Live and Die in LA, Nightcrawlers, and others); Robert Towne (Personal Best); Paul Schrader (Cat People); Penny Marshall (Awakenings); Mark Rydell (For the Boys); Quentin Tarantino (assembly editor Pulp Fiction).
He also worked with experience Hendrix to compile Jimi Hendrix Live at Woodstock. For himself and family, Jere created handwork from leather, macrame and found objects.
A memorial for friends and family will be held at Sunday, September 24, at 2:00 p.m., at Founders Memorial Garden at 325 S. Lumpkin St., on the University of Georgia campus, in Athens, Georgia. There is a public parking lot at 199 W. Wray St., across the street from the gardens.
