A native of Clarke County she was the daughter of the late Dewey Otis and Lillie Mae Brooks Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her husband Carlos Clifton Hamby, Sr., sons Carlos Clifton Hamby, Jr and Ronald Otis Hamby and brother Dewey Otis Lindsey, Jr. Mrs. Hamby retired from St. Mary’s Hospital a and a member of the Young Harris United Methodist Church.
Survivors include five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 3PM Sunday at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Carey Gibson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday at Bernstein.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Young Harris United Methodist Church, 973 Prince Ave., Athens, Georgia 30601.
