Joe Hale Gill Sr.

A native of Tampa, FL, Mr. Gill was a son of the late Ben Forrest Gill and Polly Gertrude Young Gill. He retired from Life of Georgia Insurance Co. after over 30 years and was a member of the Colbert Lions Club and Colbert United Methodist Church.

Survivors include children, Joe “Buster” Hale Gill Jr. of Albemarle, NC and Sheila (Greg) Magrum of Colbert; sister, Dorothy (Tim) Timmons of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Jo Lynn (David) Howell, Kelly (Daniel) Bakkar, Angela Magrum and Gregory Magrum; great-grandchildren, July Howell and Violet Howell; and very special caregivers who were like family, Ida Campbell, Yonda Davenport and Rachel McGee.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gill was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Gentry Gill; brother, Fred B. Gill and sisters, Vera Mai Taylor and Virginia Thompkins Gill.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10 at 11 a.m. at Colbert United Methodist Church with Pastor Kathy Brockman officiating. Interment will follow at Colbert City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 9 from 5-8 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home.
