Mr. Kinley was born in Royston to the late Winifred and Flossie Ioma Hatcher Kinley and lived in the Royston area all of his life. He joined the United States Army, in 1971, and served until 1973 and then joined the United States Army Reserves. Johnny worked as an electrician and retired from Athens Industrial after many years of service. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed attending the Friday and Saturday night auctions and hosting fish fries after a long day of fishing.
In addition to his parents, his sisters, Geraldine Garrison and Jo Ann Barrick, preceded him in death.
Mr. Kinley is survived by his wife, Debbie Kinley of Athens; sons, Silas Kinley and his wife, Melissa, of Hull and Camen Kinley of Athens; brothers, James Kinley and his wife, Diane of Athens and Ricky Kinley and his wife, Lynn of South Carolina; sisters, Joice Linander of Phoenix City, AL; Jeannette Kuns of Spokane, WA; and Elaine Kinnear and her husband, Grant of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Selice Haley and her husband, Noah, Marlee Kinley, and Camen Kinley, Jr., all of Athens; Bria Kinley, Brantley Parker, and Bryson Nash, all of Hull; former daughter-in-law, Angie Colley of Athens; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 2:00 to 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 3, 2023, in Bernstein Funeral Home, immediately followed by the funeral service in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Tony Vismor officiating.
Burial will follow in Attica Baptist Church Cemetery.
