A California native, Jon was the son of the late James and Diane Harris Edwards. He was an avid scuba diver, astronomer, photographer, engineer and also enjoyed hiking and woodworking.
Jon described himself as a “jack of all trades, master of none,” was always positive, and never took a single day for granted.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Kanda Edwards; children: Morgan Edwards (Alex Samarchi) and Kyle Edwards; brothers: James Edwards, Jeff Edwards and Chuck Hunter; sister, Cathy Hunter; and one granddaughter due in December.
A celebration of life service will be determined at a later date in California.
Jon is in the care of Bernstein Funeral Home of Athens, GA.
