Dr. Jorge Bartolomé Busquets Rodríguez

Born July 26, 1930 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, Jorge was the oldest son of the late Miguel Busquets and Margarita Rodriguez de Busquets, and brother of the late Miguel “Miguelin” Busquets Rodriguez.

Jorge is survived by his youngest brother, Hector “Tato” Busquets Rodriguez and wife, Lily; two daughters and two sons, Eileen and husband, Eric Shoaf of Crawford, GA, Marisol and husband, Efren Franco of El Paso, TX, Jorge Busquets and wife, Susanne of Tulsa, OK, Ricardo Busquets and wife, Ingrid of Safety Harbor, FL; ten grandchildren, Patrick Bassi and wife, Valeria, Giovanni Bassi and wife, Noy, Ian Hensdill, Katya and husband, David Oakes, Isaak Busquets, Daniel Busquets and wife, Oriamna, Kristtian Busquets, Esteban Busquets, Alanah Busquets, Paul Busquets; and five great-grandchildren, Gianna Bassi, Milania Bassi, Sterling Oakes, Lakelyn Oakes and Lucca Bassi. His grandchildren affectionately called him “Papon."

Jorge’s favorite scripture that he loved to quote was Psalm 121:

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

A Graveside Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2021, at Hill Haven Memory Gardens with Rev. Dave Smith officiating.

Sus nietos lo llamaban cariñosamente "Papon".
