I was married to Jose from 1975 to 1990.  Even though we have had no contact for many years we have mutual friends in Minnesota and California who relayed news of his life to me.  I remember him as a colorful, fun loving guy, who was always generous to friends.  There are many he encountered in his journey here that are sad about his passing.  In an attempt to help the coroner locate any living family that he may have I have talked with several of our mutual friends and they all remember him fondly and had delightfully humorous and touching stories about him.  If anyone has been able to locate any of his living relatives I would be glad to know.  Even though he was truly proud to have become a U.S. citizen, I have learned from his friend Greg that he longed to return someday to Uraguay.  I wish that there is someone that would know how to contact his family so that they know that he is no longer with us.  Rest in peace, Joe.  You were loved by many.
