Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mr. Mojica was the son of the late Jose Francisco Mojica and Encarnacion Colon. A 20-year veteran of the United States Navy, he later worked in IT for the Department of Defense. He loved Star Wars, Marvel and DC movies and always enjoyed looking sharp and smelling good. He was an avid soccer fan—a love that grew because his children played growing up. He didn’t have a favorite male team, but he would watch all of the games but was especially a fan of the U.S. Women’s soccer team.
Mr. Mojica loved his wife and children and loved God so much. He always put God and family first until the very end.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Hortencia Diaz Mojica and children: Freddy Valentin Diaz of Charlotte, NC and Andrea Mojica of Athens.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 31, at 11:00 a.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel. Military funeral honors will rendered by the United States Navy.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
