A native of Mexico, Mr. Solis-Benitez was the son of Ausencio Solis-Soto and Lorenza Benitez-Fajardo of Athens. He was a restaurant manager.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Guadalupe Gatica-Rico; daughter, Nalini Solis-Gatica; son, Erick Brayan Solis-Gatica all of Athens; sisters, Hermila Solis-Benitez and Silvia Solis-Benitez both of Michoacan, Mexico; brothers, Fidelmar Solis-Benitez, Israel Solis-Benitez both of Athens and Francisco Solis-Benitez of Andrews, NC; grandparents, J. Concepcion Solis-Rico, Hermila Soto-Reyes, and Remedios Fajardo-Araujo; 2 brothers-in-law; 3 sisters-in-law, and 12 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:30PM Tuesday, July 28th at the residence in Athens.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday, July 29th at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
