Mr. Golub was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes Golub. He was a 1940 graduate of Sharon High School in Sharon, PA. He then began his career at 18 years old with Westinghouse Electric Company. During this time he moved to Athens in 1957 with New Plant Planning for Westinghouse. Mr. Golub's career spanned 44 years, retiring at the age of 62. Upon retirement in 1985 he started a new career with Carson and Associates as a Financial Advisor.
Mr. Golub took numerous classes at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, Penn State University, and Pitt Extension courses. He then graduated from the University of Georgia in 1963 with a degree in Business Administration.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Golub, whom he married in 1952; seven children, Joseph Golub of Tucson, AZ, William Golub of Warren, OH, Gregory (Robin Repass) Golub of Atlanta, GA, Mary Jo Rushing of Ft. Pierce, FL, Thomas (Kristin) Golub of Johns Creek, GA, Paul (Teresa) Golub of Watkinsville, GA, and Larry (Gretchen) Golub of Williamsburg, VA; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Golub was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A visitation for Mr. Golub will be Friday, March 23 from 6-8 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, March 24 at 11 a.m. with the entombment following the service at Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or to the charity of your choice.
