Joseph Gordon III, 48, of Athens, GA passed away Friday, August 23, 2013.

A native of Long Island, NY, Mr. Gordon was the son of Joseph Gordon Jr and Marguerite Minden Gordon. He retired from the United States Navy where he served on a number of submarines.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Wendy Strus and husband, Wojtek of Athens and 3 nephews, Andrew, Michael, and Jason.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
