Joyce is survived by her son, Jamie Hudson of Athens; two brothers, Charles T. Day (Judy) and Alton F. Day (Linda), both of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Amber Hudson Blair (Harris) and Charlotte Hudson of Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. “Sy” Sundling; her daughters, June Hudson and Elaine Hudson; and her sister, Polly Day Judy.
Joyce was born in Greenville, NC to her parents, Charlie and Rosalie Day. She received her BA degree at Converse College. She was active in golf and bridge and was the activities director at Cedar Hill Nursing Home for nine years. She loved that! Joyce attended Athens First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home. A graveside service at will be held at 2:00 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Park, followed by a reception at 3:00 p.m. at the Hilltop Grille.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a favorite charity in Joyce’s name.
