She was born in Greenville, SC on November 24, 1933 to the late Dan Greene and Anna Maud Greene. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George S. Adams, Jr.
She was a charter member of the Athens Choral Society and long-time active member of First Baptist Church Athens, where she sang soprano in the choir, and was a member of The Joe Callaway Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Athens Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed her volunteer work as a Pink Lady at Athens Regional Hospital.
Her greatest joy was her family. She spent her life serving her husband and children and taught them to value others. She loved her extended family—cousins, aunts and uncles and would share the joys and sorrows in their lives as well. She loved music and poured that love especially into her children as well as family and friends.
She loved the Lord and never wavered in her faith. She would often ask her children to pray for her, even when her memory was fading.
She was the mother of four daughters and one son: Margueritte Wilson (Jim) of Norris, Tennessee; Carolyn Rogers (Danny) of Watkinsville, Georgia; Charles Adams (Becky) of Watkinsville, Georgia; Judy Campione (Joe) of White, Georgia; and Nancy Bedell (Ben) of Watkinsville, Georgia.
She loved her ten grandchildren and their spouses: Jeremy Rogers (Laura), Luke Rogers (Lindsay), Jessica DeMarcus (Kevin), Mallory Shedd (Tyler), Sam Campione, Matt Campione, Christopher Adams, Kate Adams, David Bedell and Charles Bedell and was blessed to have five great-grandchildren: Jackson Rogers (Jeremy and Laura), Joey DeMarcus (Kevin and Jessica), Reagan Bedell (David and Mandy Brumbelow), Caroline Rogers (Luke and Lindsay) and Elijah Shedd (Tyler and Mallory).
She also leaves behind two brothers and one sister, Jimmy Greene (Hilda), Dan Greene (Gail) and Martha Scott, as well as a sister-in-law, whom she always thought of as a sister, Peggy Hammond.
The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Highland Hills Memory Care Center as well as St. Mary’s Hospice Care for serving and loving her in her last days. You will never know how much you ministered to the family as well.
