Mr. Ruth was born in Owen County, Kentucky. He was a colonel in the Civil Air Patrol for over 60 years. He was also in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He is survived by his son, Todd Ruth; nieces and nephews, JoAnn McKinney, John Flynn, James Flynn, Glenna Purvis, Alex Ruth, Ralph E. Ruth, William Ruth, Eugene Atkins, Buddy Atkins, Vicki Bruckner, and James Edgar Ruth II.
The service will be at Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm, Sunday, July 8, 2012, with Rev. Alan Mace officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friend from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Bernstein Funeral Home.
