Kenneth Douglas Swindle

He was known lovingly by his friends and family as Ken.

Ken is survived by his son Lee O. Swindle. Ken was also survived by his wife Dr. Faye L Swindle but by only nine days. Ken met Faye while in the Army while stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia. They were married on September, 29th 1957 and soon after settled in Athens Georgia.

Kenneth is lovingly remembered by his son Lee Swindle of Athens Georgia, as the best possible father and role model that a son could be blessed with. And by all his friends and acquaintances in both Texas and Georgia.

Kenneth was born in Ennis, Texas in 1932. He attended SMU and later went on to earn a degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia. He was inducted into Blue Key and ACHON, two prestigious honor societies at the university. He was a prolific house builder in the Athens area during the late 1960's and early 1970's. Kenneth was a long term building inspector for H.U.D. and did building inspections for Oconee County for several years. Ken was well known for his jovial personality, genuine friendliness and ability to connect with others.

A celebration of Ken`s life will be announced and held at a later date in the spring of 2022.
