

Kim was born in Sandersville, Ga., on August 31, 1948. He was the son of Luther Sanders Killingsworth and Ellen Ennis Killingsworth. The family moved to Athens, Ga. in 1951, and Kim remained in Athens the rest of his life.
In 1972, Kim and Julie Nelms were united in marriage. That union blessed Kim with a daughter, Wendi Killingsworth Milner (husband Chad) who survives.
In 1999, Kim and Bethany Colón were united in marriage. That union blessed Kim with a son, Nicolas Colón (wife Caycee) who survives.
In addition to his two children, Kim is survived by his grandchildren: Sage Milner, Luke Milner, Kate Milner, and baby girl, Colón. They were his greatest joys and he was so proud of them. Also surviving are his dear sisters: Sandra (Linn) Lukert, Susan Cole; nephews: Jake, Clint, Matthew, and Landon; and nieces: Christina, Kristen, Katie, and Amelia.
Kim graduated with the 1966 class of Athens high school. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Ga. and UGA in Athens, Ga. Kim served in the United States Military Army division. One of the highlights of his military service was presenting colors for Mamie Eisenhower's funeral.
Kim started in banking and finance, but spent most of his professional career managing in the construction industry. Wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps, Kim proudly obtained his pilot's license as a teenager. He flew as a private pilot, a certified flight instructor, and just for fun on a beautiful day.
In his spare time, he loved playing golf, deep-sea fishing, big game hunting, cheering on the Georgia Bulldawgs. Kim was very generous to those in need. He adored his children and grandchildren and was loved by many.
A private family graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Sandersville, Ga.
