She was born in Orange, New Jersey, on March 20, 1971. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia, with a degree in Anthropology. She also had an AA degree in Nursing from Athens Tech and was a Registered Nurse. Prior to becoming disabled, she worked as an Operating Room Nurse at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens GA.
Lisa is survived by her partner, caregiver, and best friend, Robert McGarity, of Athens GA; by her parents, Patrick and Nora Berry, of Snellville GA; by her brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Christina Berry, of Buford GA; by her brother, Brian Berry and his partner, Chrissy Kellogg, of Gainesville FL; and by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Laura Berry, of Lawrenceville GA.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home.
