Born in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Georgia Smith and was also preceded in death by her husband, Eldridge Dorsey Howington. Mrs. Howington was a homemaker and a member of the Winterville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include children Dorsey H. Howington and wife Helen of Hartwell and Cherry Mathews of Hoover, Alabama; sisters Ruby Nalley of Dublin and Betty Ford and Linda Cook both of Macon, grandchildren Brian Mathews and Karen McBrayer and one great granddaughter Shelly McBrayer.
Funeral services will be 3pm Tuesday, March 11th at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Bernstein beginning at 1pm until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund, 1543 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell, Georgia 30643.
