A native of Athens, GA Mr. Thomas was the son of the late Carroll and Kathryn Allen Thomas. He graduated from Athens High School and attended the University of South Carolina. Mr. Thomas worked as a real estate agent for over 30 years and was currently with Carriage House Realty. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Maclean Thomas of Athens; daughter, Meredith Thomas and husband, Shaun McComas of Athens; son, Robert Thomas of Athens; brother, Carl Thomas of Atlanta, and sister, Suzanne Thomas of Marietta.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 North Andrews Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33309.
