Martha Austin

A native of Greer, South Carolina, Mrs. Austin was the daughter of the late William Boyce Holtzclaw and Julia Christine King Holtzclaw and was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Austin and sister, Elizabeth Holtzclaw Collins. She was co-founder and secretary at Austin Furniture and a member of the Athens Country Club and Athens First Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Marilyn Austin Walters and husband, John of Tyron, NC; son, Glenn Edward Austin and wife, Sue of Athens; grandchildren, Ashley Falls and husband, Byron, Tyler Walters, Turner Walters, Kristin Miller and husband, Joseph, and Bryan Edward Austin and wife, Sarah, and great-grandsons, John Maxwell Falls, Henry Edward Falls, Joseph Wyatt Miller, and William Hardy Miller.

Funeral services will be held 3PM Wednesday, December 21st at First Baptist Church of Athens with Dr. Jon Appleton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM prior to the service at Athens First Baptist Church.
