A native of Athens, GA, Mrs. Faw was the daughter of the late James Fred Whitehead and Floy Landrum Whitehead and was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Wesley Faw. Mrs. Faw was a dedicated lifelong Christian servant, an Elder, and served as choir director at Friendship Christian Church. Among many accomplishments, she served as President of the Christian Women’s Fellowship of Georgia from 1981-1984; 2nd Vice-Moderator for The Christian Church in Georgia from 1992-1993, and President of International Christian Women’s Fellowship from 1986-1990. Mrs. Faw served on the Executive Committee for the ICWF Quadrennial Assembly from 1957-1990, and served as Director for Quadrennial Music Hall Programming from 1957-1986. She co-authored two books; “In the Fullness of Time,” and “So Great A Cloud.”
Survivors include son, Judson David Faw and wife, Debra of Issaquah, Washington; step-daughter, Cynthia Faw of Seattle, WA; sister, Carolyn Wheeler of Bogart; 3 grandsons, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday, March 9th at Friendship Christian Church with Rev. Doug Job, Rev. Douglas M. Ivey, and Rev. Betty Brewer-Calvert officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
